I was born in Washington, DC, raised primarily by my Grandmother who made sure that part of our regular routine together was to visit the public library in our neighborhood. Books taught me to use my imagination, taking me places that no TV show could even come close to. Thus began my love of books and reading. Now, here I am, the owner of the ONLY African American-owned, brick and mortar bookstore in the entire state of South Carolina. I want to share my love of books and reading with others and plant that same seed that was planted in me when I was a child.
